Day 2 Activity 1

  1. Kia Ora Brodi

My name is Jolie and I go to Glen Innes School,I am also doing the summer Learning Journey which means that I can see more of your amazing work. I love your work. What was your favourite part about this activity? Why?. Keep up the great work.

  2. Hi Brodi,

I'm so glad that you've decided to participate in the Summer Learning Journey! Good for you!

Interesting that, of course, Wharepuni don't have any space for vehicles like cars. It makes me think that Maori must have been very strong and very fit from all of the walking they would have done. And they would have been very strong as a result of all the paddling they had to do if they lived by the sea perhaps.

I wonder if you could add a little more information to your answer as to what a Wharepuni is made of versus the house in which you live? Even though they both have roofs, I suspect their roofs are quite different from each other. In what way would that be true?

I hope you'll continue to enjoy the SLJ because there are so many activities to choose from! And I hope that you're having a super summer holiday time!!

I'm reading your blog from Canada where I live in a small town called Almonte. We have a lot of snow on the ground around our house just now, the river in town is freezing over and we have to wear heavy snow boots and lots of warm clothes whenever we walk our dog, Spirit.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
